Overview
I attended medical school at St. Joseph University, a Jesuit school in Beirut, Lebanon, founded in 1875. I followed this with an internship at the American University of Beirut. My wife, Dr. Amal Khoury, and I have lived in Tennessee for over 20 years. It's home for us, as well as for our son and daughter. We love the people and the mountains. I'm involved in our church and do community work overseas. I love to travel and have been to every state (except Alaska) as well as half of Europe and several other countries in Asia. At a young age, I wanted to become a doctor. My parents made sure our education was their priority. My sister became a dentist, and my brother is also an OB/GYN. I like to connect with people, so I felt medicine would give me an opportunity to interact with people and help them. I was in my second year of medical school when I first delivered a baby, and I knew that was what I wanted to be. OB/GYN has a nice mixture of helping people in many ways, whether delivering babies or doing surgeries. So far, I've delivered over 6,000 babies and have done more than 8,000 gynecological surgeries. Patients are not just numbers. I treat all of my patients like my family. I take the time to sit with them and give them all their options. Your patients will tell you what you need to know to take care of them - you just have to take the time to listen and not to rush.
