Dr. Charles Huddleston

Dr. Charles Huddleston performs surgery on children with acquired and congenital heart and lung diseases. He specializes in pediatric heart and lung transplantation, congenital heart surgery, and chest wall deformities, and uses innovative methods that include the Ross procedure and arrhythmia surgery. Dr. Huddleston is interested in research that investigates heart rhythm abnormalities in children with congenital heart disease, and quality performance. He is a professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. Dr. Huddleston is a member of the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association and the American Association for Thoracic Surgery. As part of his commitment to medical mission work, he developed a congenital heart surgery program in Panama. He has served as a captain in the United States Navy Reserves for over 20 years.

His clinical expertise encompasses Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), Tetralogy of Fallot, Congenital Heart Disease (CHD), Heart Transplant, and Thymectomy.

Dr. Huddleston is board certified in American Board Of Thoracic Surgery , American Board Of Thoracic Surgery-Congenital Cardiac Surgery , Drug Enforcement Administration , Missouri Dept Of Health/Narcotics&Dangerous Drugs , and Missouri State Board Of Registration. He is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 47 peer reviewed articles.
