As a burn surgeon, I take care of patients with burns – including frostbite – as well as other complex wound healing issues. My favorite part of my job is that I get to take care of patients at all phases of their care – from the ICU, through surgeries, to follow-ups in the clinic. I really enjoy being part of a team at the Burn Center, where patients receive specialized, and often much more holistic care from a team of providers who are all focused on the best possible outcome for the patient. I really believe that listening to all members of this multidisciplinary team, and involving the patient and their family in the healing process, are essential to the best outcome.
