Overview
David Blumfield, DPM, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biology from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and went on to earn his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia. He then moved to Houston and completed his residency with the Harris County Podiatric Surgical Residency Program, where he served as chief resident. Board certified in foot and ankle surgery, Dr. Blumfield specializes in surgery of the foot and ankle, including bunions and hammertoe deformities, reconstructive surgery and pediatric surgery. Additionally, he is interested in sports medicine. Currently, Dr. Blumfield serves as the Chief of Podiatric Surgery at Memorial Herman Memorial City Medical Center. He previously served as the Chief of Podiatric Surgery at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Houston. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS) and a Diplomat of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS). In his spare time, Dr. Blumfield enjoys traveling to Disney World with his family, which includes five children and one grandchild. He also plays golf, works out and cheers on his Texans at games. However, his real passion is baseball and the Yankees.

Dr. James Jacobs earned his undergraduate degree in biology from State University of New York School of Arts and Sciences (SUNY Potsdam) and his podiatric medical degree from Temple College of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his surgical residency at Doctors Hospital (now United Memorial Medical Center) in Houston. In practice since 1989, Dr. Jacobs is board certified in podiatric surgery and a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle disorders resulting from disease or injury. He also treats bunions, neuroma, plantar fasciitis, athlete’s foot, foot pain, calluses and hammer toes. Dr. Jacobs is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Texas Podiatric Medical Association and the Harris County Podiatric Medical Society, of which he is a past president. With his philosophy of comprehensive foot care combined with state-of-the-art technology, he strives to create an unsurpassed standard of excellence in patient care. Dr. Jacobs is an active member of the Greater Katy Area Chamber of Commerce and the Katy Rotary Club and has held leadership positions in both organizations. He also serves as coordinator of the Katy Triathlon and volunteers for the Houston Tenneco Marathon, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and Houston Health Care for the Homeless.
