Overview
Philosophy of care | Having dealt with cancer in my own family, I understand it affects not only the diagnosed individual, but also everyone close to them. The effects are multi-layered: physical, emotional, financial and spiritual. My goal is to deliver excellent care for you while always communicating openly and honestly with you and those who matter most to you. | Why I entered medicine | I was drawn to medicine, and oncology particularly, after my family lost my mother to breast cancer in 1998 at age 34. While my young family was dealt a devastating tragedy, it has been beautiful to see the triumphs medicine has accomplished in the years since. More people are living longer and better than ever, and we aim to do better as well. | Community involvement | While training in Philadelphia I helped at a shelter for women (some with children) experiencing homelessness, providing medical and supportive care. I look forward to getting integrated and involved in the Lehigh Valley community! | Personal interests | Outside of medicine, my time is mostly spent with my wife, son and other family locally. I am passionate about playing music and try to listen to one new album every day. I am a huge Philly sports fan and love playing baseball when able.

Philosophy of care | In my area we’re dealing with people who are frightened. I’m trying to help patients deal with all of the information they’ve been hearing, and I’m trying to dispel all of the myths. It’s a matter of education and mutual trust. I’m there to do whatever I can do for them, even if it’s just a matter of easing their pain. | Also, I am a member of the thoracic cancer multidisciplinary consultation team. Together we review your diagnostic information and give you a written opinion reflecting the scope of your condition and recommendations for your best course of care. | Why I entered medicine | Medicine was not my first choice. I wanted to be first oboe in the New York Philharmonic. I have a love of biochemistry and science, and I like people. One day, I just decided I wanted to be a doctor. I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world. | Community involvement | I’m part of the National Cancer Institute’s community cancer program. Our goal is to be able to give the same care and treatment to everyone, whether they have health insurance or not. | Personal interests | I still play the oboe and will always have a love of music.
