Being an intensivist requires critical thinking, procedural skills and actively engaging with patients and families in their time of need. I strive to provide an excellent level of care to my patients by using guidelines and evidencebased medicine and help guide families as they navigate this difficult situation. I began working in the hospital setting as a teenager and held a variety of positions. Eventually, I became an emergency room/intensive care unit nurse. After a number of years, I had a desire to expand my knowledge and skillset, so I pursued a degree in medicine. Having experience at each level of care has allowed me to be a more wellrounded clinician that can better meet the needs of my patients.
