I chose to be a surgeon because it requires a hands-on approach. I like the combination of technical skill and medical knowledge that’s needed to treat surgical diseases. I enjoy all aspects of general surgery from initial consultation to post-operative follow-up, and I like to focus on expectations and patient education throughout the surgical experience. Aside from general surgery, my areas of practice include minimally invasive Da Vinci Robot procedures, advanced laparoscopy, hernia surgery, breast surgery and trauma surgery. My interest in trauma surgery stems from being in the United States Army for three years and the Minnesota Army National Guard for over 26 years, with multiple deployment tours to the Middle East.
