Dr. Igor Areinamo is a board-certified and fellowship-trained pediatric cardiovascular intensive care physician at Orlando Health Children's Heart Institute. Dr. Areinamo believes in taking a holistic approach with his patients and strives to bring the latest evidence-based approaches into his treatment plans. He grew up in Venezuela and saw firsthand the consequences of people, particularly children, not having access to medical care, which is why he decided to become a pediatrician. Dr. Areinamo received his medical training from the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in Saint Kitts and Nevis. He was the chief resident during the final year of his pediatric residency at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. He then completed a pediatric cardiology fellowship at the University of Utah and a pediatric critical care fellowship at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Areinamo is board-certified in cardiology and pediatrics with the American Board of Pediatrics. He is also affiliated with the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society and the American College of Cardiology, among other medical organizations. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
