Overview
James W. Barnes, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine fellowship-trained specialist dedicated to helping patients stay active and regain mobility through evidence-based orthopedic care. He treats conditions involving the shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist, hip, knee, foot, and ankle, with expertise in sports injuries, fracture care, arthritis, robotic-assisted joint replacement, and minimally invasive orthopedic procedures.

Before entering private practice, Dr. Barnes served as a Major in the United States Air Force and deployed to Afghanistan. He has also cared for elite athletes as a Team USA physician and previously served as an orthopedic surgeon for the Los Angeles Lakers organization.
His philosophy is simple: provide compassionate, individualized care, explain every diagnosis and treatment clearly, and help every patient return to the activities that matter most.
