I am a family medicine doctor with a particular interest in obesity medicine and weight-related medical conditions (like diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol). I graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 2010, completed my residency through the University of Minnesota Family Medicine Residency at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital, and went on to complete a preceptorship in obesity medicine through Harvard Medical School. My passion is weight management, but perhaps not in the way most patients think. Body neutrality is important, and while weight loss can be a health improvement tool, it’s not always necessary in every patient. Sorting out which patients will benefit from weight loss, how much weight loss, and by what means weight loss could or should be achieved is nuanced process I enjoy sorting out with patients.
