For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a surgeon. I was drawn to more complicated surgical fields that require a comprehensive, well designed process to achieve success. During my career, I learned how to help patients navigate a complex patient care process. As Medical Director of several bariatric surgery programs, I have learned how to create an approachable, patient friendly process that helps patients achieve the success they deserve.As a practicing surgeon, I bring this knowledge of complex systems to my interactions with patients helping them to navigate the insurance process and insuring they are completely ready for their operation. My varied knowledge in abdominal surgery, laparoscopic surgery and bariatric surgery allows me to individualize my care for each patient crafting a plan to allow them to achieve long-term success.Medicine is always changing and physicians must adapt and expand our skill set. In 2017, I became certified in obesity medicine, creating a medical weight loss program and expanded the options to our surgical patients. In 2020, I learned robotic bariatric surgery and have brought that knowledge to three additional hospitals expanding patient access to robotic bariatric surgery.
