Dr. Jonathan Bank

Jonathan Bank, M.D. is a board-certified plastic surgeon with specialty training in microsurgery. His particular interests include autologous breast reconstruction, sensory restoration of the reconstructed breast, reversal of lymphedema, new applications for fat grafting, facial aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, and high-definition body contouring. He performs all aspects of facial, breast, and body cosmetic surgery in a AAAASF-certified facility in Great Neck, N.Y., as well as at the Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital (MEETH). Reconstructive procedures are performed in multiple hospitals in the New York area, including Lenox Hill Hospital, NorthShore University Hospital, Long Island Jewish Hospital, Glen Cove Hospital, Huntington Hospital, and Saint Francis Hospital in Roslyn, N.Y.Dr. Bank has authored more than thirty peer-reviewed articles, including award winning publications regarding novel techniques in fat grafting. He has written multiple book chapters in internationally regarded surgical publications. Dr. Bank serves on the review and editorial boards of a number of reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery journals. He has presented his research at regional, national, and international conferences in the fields of microsurgical reconstruction and aesthetic surgery.Raised in New York and Israel, Dr. Bank received his degrees from the seven-year medical program at Tel Aviv University. He served in several elite military units before relocating to Chicago, where he completed his surgical training in the combined Plastic Surgery residency program at the University of Chicago Medical Center. During his residency, he received multiple academic achievement and research awards. He subsequently completed a fellowship in microsurgical reconstruction at leading institutions in the field, at the University of Pennsylvania and at the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, and served as a visiting scholar at the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taipei, Taiwan. Dr. Bank is currently an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery, and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is an Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
