Overview
I chose to become a physician assistant in midlife, after my first career as a modern dancer. The way the body moves and works has always fascinated me, so pursuing a second career in medicine seemed a natural extension of my interests. I have been a family medicine physician assistant since 2000 and have served as lead clinician at the Walltown Neighborhood Clinic since 2004. Our clinical site is small and personable, just the way I like it. Taking care of families is very rewarding to me. As my patients have aged, I've taken time to learn more about the diseases of aging and geriatric care in general. My practice includes young children, teens, folks in midlife, and the elderly. I love what I do and feel privileged to care for the people that I serve.

I am honored to care for our patients with brain and spinal cord tumors, as well as supporting their loved ones as we navigate this challenging diagnosis together. I strive to help patients find their balance between aggressive, cutting-edge brain cancer treatment and protecting their quality of life. It's important to me to care for the whole person with attention to fitness, nutrition, and mental health. I live in Chapel Hill with my husband and two children. I am a physician assistant in the division of gastroenterology. I treat many types of liver problems, including autoimmune hepatitis, genetic conditions, and viral hepatitis.
