Overview
Before beginning her medical career, Katie Whitmire, NP-C, served as a soldier in the United States Army.� She earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Arizona State University and a Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner from Duke University. Currently, Katie is studying to achieve a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Throughout her studies, Katie worked in various healthcare positions, including as a nurse on a critical care floor, a diabetes health educator, an endocrinology nurse practitioner, and a pediatric endocrinology nurse practitioner. Katie is dedicated to helping people. She loves working with patients who are truly motivated to improve their health but need guidance. Her commitment to the community is demonstrated outside the office through her charitable support of the Nevada Diabetes Association.��
When not working or volunteering, Katie focuses on her own health. She is an avid Crossfitter. If she pursued a career outside of medicine, she would be a personal trainer and health coach.
