
Overview
Kibwei McKinney, MD, provides exceptional care and treatment for patients with diseases of the nose and paranasal sinuses and treatments for tumors of the nose, paranasal sinuses, and skull base. Dr. McKinney earned his bachelor's degree in human biology from Stanford University in Stanford, California, before earning a medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He then completed multiple programs at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, N.C., including a fellowship as a part of the National Institute of Health T32 program, a residency specializing in otolaryngology - head and neck surgery, and a fellowship specializing in rhinology, allergy and endoscopic skull base surgery. Additionally, Dr. McKinney also completed a fellowship in rhinology, nasal and sinus surgery at the Georgia Nasal and Sinus Institute in Savannah, Ga. Dr. McKinney has experience teaching as a professor at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, in the Department of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery. He enjoys mentoring young doctors, speaking at national conferences and has taught numerous medical education seminars for his peers. He was named a top doctor by Oklahoma Magazine in 2022 and has been published numerous times for his studies. Dr. McKinney is a member of six medical professional organizations and is currently serving as Chair of the Skull Base and Orbital Surgery Section of the American Rhinologic Society.
