Kristine Arandela, MD, is a vascular neurologist with Atlantic Neuroscience Associates at Overlook Medical Center, specializing in the diagnosis and care of stroke patients. Board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, she completed a four-year residency program in neurology followed by a fellowship in the subspecialty of vascular neurology. The recipient of the Humanism in Medicine award during her residency, Dr. Arandela provides compassionate care to patients who have experienced a stroke as well as their families and loved ones. She draws on her knowledge, expertise, and the latest techniques in vascular neurology to deliver the most advanced stroke care including the acute management, daily assessment, and follow-up of stroke patients. She employs the latest ultrasonographic and neuroimaging techniques, as well as interventional treatments, to diagnose and monitor patients. Dr. Arandela served on hospital-wide stroke task force committees dedicated to improving stroke prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation during her residency and fellowship appointments. Dr. Arandela earned her BA in Cell Biology and Neuroscience at Rutgers University where she graduated summa cum laude. She then earned her medical degree from New York Medical College, Valhalla, NY. Dr. Arandela completed her residency at Temple University Hospital where she served as the academic chief resident and helped in the education and training of the medical students and junior neurology residents. She then completed a fellowship in vascular neurology at Boston University Medical Center, one of the busiest emergency departments in the country that serves a very diverse patient population. She is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
