Dr. Leila Tabibian

I come from a family of physicians. My father was a general surgeon in Iran, in an era when subspecialization was much less common. He had an incredible breadth of experience that extended well beyond his surgical capabilities. His clinical acumen was unparalleled, but what made him stand out was his personalized approach to every patient. He frequently told me: listen carefully to your patients, the clues are always in their story. As simple as this may sound, and despite the continuous technological advances that we are blessed with in medicine, this core tenet is unchanged and is what drives me in my practice. Every patient walks into the office with a story, often complicated, and often ridden with anxiety that accompanies medical uncertainty. I strive to understand this complexity, create plans that are tailored to each person’s needs and hopefully help alleviate some of that angst. I find this aspect of medicine very fulfilling. Urology offers a unique realm of both surgical and medical problems. Surgery can be a very distressing idea. But knowledge goes a long way, and I hope that I can provide each person with an understanding of their needs to lessen the burden that comes with the territory. Starting in the Bay Area of California, I worked at Kaiser Permanente for six years. I moved to Minnesota in 2010 and joined the HealthPartners Urology group. HealthPartners has been an integral part of my “grown up” life, which also includes a wonderful husband and son. I am grateful every day for the opportunity to be your doctor.

Her clinical expertise encompasses Neurogenic Bladder, Urinary Tract Infection in Children, Urinary Tract Infection (UTI), and Boils.
