Overview
I began my nursing career in the Neuroscience ICU at Duke University Hospital and remained there for over 5 years. During this time, I cared for neurosurgical patients and developed an appreciation for this population. Working closely with Duke Neurosurgery throughout my nursing career was a privilege I was not ready to give up. This led to my interest in becoming a nurse practitioner with the neurosurgery team at Duke Health. As a provider, I value interdisciplinary teamwork and communication to deliver the best care for patients and their loved ones. This includes ensuring patients have a full understanding of their condition, available interventions, and steps to recovery. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time at the beach and in the mountains with my husband and lively golden retriever.
