Overview
Matthew D. Hoggatt, MD, a native Houstonian, earned his undergraduate degree from Trinity University and his medical degree from the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. He completed both his internship and residency in general surgery and urologic surgery at the University of New Mexico, where served as chief resident. Board certified in urology, Dr. Hoggatt is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He treats patients 18 years and older for general urologic concerns or issues. His clinical interests include urologic oncology, treating stone disease, robotic applications in urology, and and UroLift® implants for BPH treatment. Dr. Hoggatt served as Chief of Surgery for Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital from 2014 to 2016, and will serve as the Chief of Staff from 2019 to 2020. He is an active member of the Harris County Medical Society and is an Ambassador of the Texas Medical Association. He currently maintains membership in the Endourological Society, the American Urologic Society, the South Central Section of the American Urologic Society, the Harris County Medical Society, and the Texas Medical Association. In his spare time, Dr. Hoggatt enjoys spending time snow skiing, watching his kids play sports, sailing, fishing and scuba diving.
