About Melissa She wanted to become a nurse since childhood, but it was during high school when a nurse practitioner made a large impact in her life and helped shape her decision to become a nurse practitioner. Melissa is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, an international honor society of nursing. She is certified as a family nurse practitioner (FNP-C) by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and as a certified pediatric nurse by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. She is licensed as an APRN and as a registered nurse by the Florida Department of Health. Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time with family, traveling, exercising, sports and outdoor activities.
