Dr. Michael C. Albert

Dr. Michael Albert is a concierge physician with Johns Hopkins Personalized Care. He partners with each of his patients to provide individualized care, helping them reach their best health outcomes. He believes in listening closely and tailoring his approach according to every patient’s needs and preferences. Dr. Albert is passionate about prevention and helping patients achieve and maintain optimal health and quality of life. He genuinely enjoys getting to know his patients and their families. As an internal medicine physician, he draws on over 2 decades of experience, and a deep knowledge base, to diagnose and treat a wide variety of medical conditions. A hallmark of Dr. Albert's practice is providing personal availability to his patients. He provides extended medical consultations in the office and on videoconferences, and is very responsive to telephone calls, text messages, and asynchronous messages. He coordinates his patients' care with specialists and hospitals, and personally is available to his patients when they have urgent after-hours needs. Dr. Albert received a bachelor’s degree in ecology from Princeton University, and after teaching science for four years, he enrolled at the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMMS). After completing his medical degree and internal medicine residency training at UMMS, he began work as a primary care physician. He subsequently joined Johns Hopkins in 2009 to practice primary care. In addition to taking care of his patients, Dr. Albert served as the chief of primary care internal medicine for nearly a decade. He joined Johns Hopkins Personalized Care in 2024 to practice primary care internal medicine full-time. In 2016, Dr. Albert was inducted into the Johns Hopkins Community Physicians Academy of Clinical Excellence. Dr. Albert has received teaching awards for medical school and resident education, and has partnered with numerous Johns Hopkins researchers on primary care studies focused on improving cardiovascular and metabolic health. Dr. Albert lives with his wife and their two teenage children. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, as well as sailing, water sports, skiing and other outdoor activities with his family and friends. His clinical expertise encompasses Hypertension, Maturity Onset Diabetes of the Young, Kienbock's Disease, and Type 2 Diabetes (T2D).
