He then completed a post-baccalaureateresearch fellowship at the National Institutes of Health. He earned his medicaldegree from the University of Illinois Chicago College of Medicine, wherehe was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Followingmedical school, he completed his ophthalmology residency at the Universityof Michigan Kellogg Eye Center. During residency he was awarded the2018 Walter R. Parker Resident Teaching Award. He subsequently completeda 2-year fellowship in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery at theUniversity of Colorado Sue Anschutz-Rodgers Eye Center. He is now on faculty atthe University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center, where he is dedicated toproviding outstanding patient care and training the next generation ofophthalmologists. The focus of his research is better definingthe clinical outcomes of diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous,such as retinal detachments and posterior segment infectious and inflammatorydisorders, and improving medical and surgical education for medical trainees.
