Overview
I believe that quality medical care is more than a transactional interaction focused on illness. I am very capable of diagnosing and treating disease, but I particularly enjoy developing relationships with my patients. It's rewarding for me to discuss health and wellness, educate my patients, and engage in shared decision making with them. This empowers patients to take control of their health with a better understanding of the treatments and preventive measures I may offer them. My desire to connect with people and promote health, while treating the broadest spectrum of illness, is what drew me to family medicine. At Duke Primary Care, I'm able to provide this for all patients, from infants to the elderly. I grew up close by in Oxford, North Carolina and I'm a graduate of NC State University. I've come back to the Triangle after spending seven years practicing in the US Navy. My wife and I have two children, and we're thrilled to be able to raise our family in Holly Springs.
