Dr. Michael Raghunath

Born and raised in Staten Island, lived in Albany for medical school, and completing residency in Long Island, plus being a diehard NY Giants fan, I am a true New Yorker . My passion for science, medicine, math, and education are evident through my years as a high school and undergraduate professor, as well as a tutor. Upon graduating medical school, I was honored to receive the J. Garth Johnson Prize awarded to a senior student judged to be outstanding in those characteristics considered ideal in a Family Physician. Throughout my residency, I contributed chapters to medical textbooks as well as published my perspectives on the Covid-19 pandemic in Family Doctor: A Journal of the New York State Academy of Family Physicians. I bring compassion, empathy, and knowledge to all healthcare visits, and I obtain satisfaction by working with my patients and teaching my residents and medical students to become the best physicians they can be. As a proponent of a robust lifestyle, I enjoy playing soccer, flag football, rollerblading, spin/cycling, and running. I always encourage patients to exercise, as our human biology has been conditioned throughout the millennia to thrive with activity. Balance in life is also imperative, thus I also enjoy relaxing on the beach, embarking on road trips, photography, the performing arts, as well as trying new and/or exotic foods.

His clinical expertise encompasses Familial Dilated Cardiomyopathy.

Dr. Raghunath is board certified in American Board Of Family Medicine. He is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 1 peer reviewed article.
