Overview
I became involved in travel medicine in 1992 while providing primary care to new Americans at the HealthPartners International Clinic. Because of my own love of travel, and in concern for preparing patients for travel, I studied travel medicine and was certified in 2007 by the International Society of Travel Medicine. Working in Thailand, Haiti and Panama has given me additional insight into this specialty. Along with my travel medicine work, I am a member of a large internal medicine practice and enjoy providing primary care. In addition, at the invitation of my colleagues Dr. Stauffer and Dr. Hendel-Patterson, I have been involved as adjunct faculty for the Global Health course at the University of Minnesota. Outside of work, I have three children who also love to travel. Besides traveling I am an avid golfer, enjoy the Boundary Waters, water sports and reading. I am a member of the International Society for Travel Medicine (ISTM) and the Minnesota Nurse Practitioner Association (MNNP).
