Overview
I had minor health conditions in pregnancy and my husband was deployed. I have a much-improved insight into perinatal mental health and completed my training for that certification during that time. I have regularly worked with perinatal mood disorders comorbid substance use since 2016 and it holds a deep place in my heart to provide services to this population. I also struggled postpartum and feel that I connect with families on a different level after having my son.
My experiences working with neurodiverse disorders including autism as well as disorders such as PANDAS and Down's Syndrome hold a special place in my passions as well. Having a brother that struggles with both autism and deafness motivated me to learn more and want to support services for this population.
Much of the time over the years of my nursing career were spent with a special woman, my grandmother. Alzheimer's Disease is challenging, and it is necessary to treat the whole family, support the whole family.
Nonetheless my own personal challenges with mental health as a teenager captures my interest with this population. Insight as an adult on how this impacted my family helps me to guide and support my clients.
