The best part of being a nurse practitioner is making personal connections with patients. I love being an advocate for my patients and want them to feel we are a team. I have a great listening ear and feel I can help those dealing with chronic disease and terminal illness live more comfortable lives by treating their whole beings—emotionally, spiritually and physically. My philosophy is to provide compassionate, safe, nonjudgmental care to patients and families in need. I want patients and their families to feel empowered and be active partners in their care. I also encourage good nutrition, exercise, plentiful sleep and sunshine. And because I follow my own advice, I feel it makes me a better provider.
