He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson, where he served as chief resident. He performed his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine and was chief fellow at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, where his clinical niche focused on pulmonary hypertension and management of the critically ill patient on ECMO and other support devices. He currently serves as the Pulmonary Hypertension Director for Orlando Health. Dr. Swazo also has a strong interest in graduate medical education, with an emphasis in mentorship, in which he participated in the clinician educator track during his fellowship. He currently serves as the Associate Program Director for the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program at Orlando Health ORMC. About Dr. Swazo Dr. Swazo is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. His affiliations include the American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society, Society of Critical Care Medicine and International Society for Heart and Lung Transplant. A native of Puerto Rico, he is fluent in English and Spanish.
