Overview
After completing a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cellular biology from Vanderbilt University and a master’s degree in medical sciences from the University of South Florida, Dr. Rod J. Turner earned his medical degree from McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. He also completed an internship, residency and primary care sports medicine fellowship at McGovern Medical School. Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Turner has been in practice since 2016 and sees patients of all ages. With a practice focused on family medicine and non-surgical sports medicine, he provides tailored treatment plans for a wide range of injuries related to sports and exercise. Dr. Turner is an assistant professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at McGovern Medical School, and serves as team physician for the Houston Dynamo, the Houston Dash and St. Thomas University.
