Dr. Sarah Jo Stephens

I am a radiation oncologist with Duke Health who focuses primarily on Women’s Health, including breast and gynecologic malignancies. I worked as a nursing assistant (CNA) in inpatient oncology prior to attending medical school and this experience sparked and solidified my commitment to cancer patients. I aim to provide high-quality, comprehensive cancer care as part of the Duke Health's multi-disciplinary care team. I strive to develop trusting, compassionate relationships with my patients and their loved ones. I believe that clear and consistent communication with patients, families, and other members of a patient’s health care team is paramount. I hope to provide patients with the necessary tools to better understand their diagnosis and treatment options while maintaining a focus on the person as a whole. Outside of my clinical practice, I enjoy listening to podcasts and spending time with my husband and adorable dog.
