I help individuals and their loved ones manage the symptoms and stress that often accompany serious illness. I strive to provide patient-centered care that optimizes wellness and honors the unique person I am given the opportunity to care for. There is nothing algorithmic about caring for people, and it is my belief that when evidence-based care is delivered compassionately, through a plan that considers the whole person and their lived experiences, the best outcomes will be achieved. Knowing who my patients are, what forces have shaped their lives, what makes them smile, and what they worry about at night is essential to providing meaningful care. Helping patients reach their goals through shared decision making and collaboration is both an honor and privilege. When I am not collaborating with my patients or my peers, I love to read, write, draw, work in my garden, travel, swim in anything that isn't a pool, and spend every minute that I can with my two teenage children, who are my sunshine.
