
Overview
Dr. Sarah Andrews is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She completed both her medical school education and Psychiatry residency training at Johns Hopkins. She served as a Chief Resident during residency. After residency, she joined the Department of Psychiatry to pursue her interests in both transplant and substance abuse research. She serves as a consultation psychiatrist within the Comprehensive Transplant Center, completing evaluations and providing on-going psychiatric care for transplant patients. She also serves as the Service Line Director for both the Intensive Treatment Unit, an acute inpatient detoxification unit, and the Motivated Behaviors Unit, a dual diagnosis unit, at Johns Hopkins. Her interests include integrating mental health treatment into the care of transplant patients, managing substance abuse in transplant patients, and improving long-term outcomes following acute detoxification.

An active clinician, teacher, and researcher, Dr. Lyketsos is a world expert in the care and treatment of patients with Alzheimer’s and related dementias (ADRD). He carried out pioneering work on the epidemiology and treatment of neuropsychiatric features of AD. His team is developing biomarkers to accelerate treatment development for AD while designing and implementing innovative clinical trials. He leads efforts to ensure the provision of state-of-the-art Dementia Care for people with dementia in the community. Dr. Lyketsos is the Elizabeth Plank Althouse Professor at Johns Hopkins University. He directs the Johns Hopkins Bayview Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, as well as the Richman Family Precision Medicine Center of Excellence in Alzheimer’s Disease and the Memory and Alzheimer’s Treatment Center. He is the recipient of multiple awards including the 2022 Argo Award for Science from the President of the Hellenic Republic. He has authored/co-authored over 450 peer-reviewed articles, chapters, commentaries, as well as five books. His work has been cited over 76,000 times with an h-index of 149. A 2021 Stanford University publication reported that he ranked #13 out of 9,246 scientists worldwide (all-time) in the field of Geriatrics. Castle-Connolly has named Dr. Lyketsos as one of America’s Top Doctors every year since 2001.
