Houston native Dr. Sohale Sadeghpour earned both his undergraduate degree in cellular biology and his medical degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, where he also did a residency in orthopedic surgery. At the Andrews Research and Education Foundation in Pensacola, Fla., he completed a fellowship in sports medicine that involved advanced training in treatment of musculoskeletal injuries through arthroscopic surgery. Dr. Sadeghpour, who has been in practice since 2010, is board certified in orthopedic surgery. His research, teaching and clinical activity have earned Dr. Klineberg an international reputation in spinal deformity surgery. Author of over then 300 publications and book chapters, he also edited Adult Lumbar Scoliosis, A Clinical Guide to Diagnosis and Management and is a principal or co-principal investigator for more than a half-dozen clinical studies. His major research interests are enhancement of spinal fusion with stem cells and proteins and spinal deformity and outcomes. He serves on the board of directors of the Scoliosis Research Society and on the executive committee of the International Spine Study Group. He is also the North American Chair of AO Spine, a global academic community that promotes excellence in education, research, patient care and outcomes.
