Overview
I am a physician assistant who provides cancer care to adult patients with leukemia, lymphoma, and those who have had a bone marrow transplant. I work closely with our physician and nursing partners to provide evidence-based care including caring for patients who are on clinical trials. I am grateful to my patients for allowing me to participate in their care. I strive to help my patients maintain the best quality of life during their treatment and recovery. I also manage and advocate for the Advanced Practice Providers in Oncology at Duke Health. I am grateful for the opportunities I have been given and to work with a dedicated team in the Division of Hematological Malignancies and Cellular Therapy. Duke University has provided an environment that has provided continuous learning from the physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff. I’m originally from Michigan but have lived in Durham since 2001. Outside of work, I enjoy riding my bike, going to yoga, taking my labradoodle Lucy for walks, and spending time with family and friends.

I am a physician assistant in the division of gastroenterology. I treat many types of liver problems, including autoimmune hepatitis, genetic conditions, and viral hepatitis. I also treat downstream problems of ascites, which cause abdominal swelling, or encephalopathy, which can affect your brain. My favorite part is being able to walk with people on their journey toward health and wellness. When you come to see me, you see a team practice. I work together with Dr. Andrew Muir and have since 2001. I hope you know that when you see me, you are seeing him because we are a team.
