Dr. Tova Fuller

Dr. Tova Fuller is a psychiatrist who cares for organ transplant patients, including those receiving liver, lung, heart and kidney transplants. She also works with patients participating in living organ donor programs, as well as those with heart conditions participating in a program to improve their cardiovascular and general health. Her approach to treatment focuses on how physical and psychiatric illnesses interact. She has a special interest in hypnotherapy (using hypnosis to treat psychological conditions). Fuller earned her medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and a residency in psychiatry at the University of Washington. She also earned a master's degree in biomedical engineering and a doctorate in human genetics at the University of California, Los Angeles. Before coming to UCSF, she conducted research in cybernetics and bioinformatics, studying complex biological systems. Fuller's advocacy work focuses on reducing negative health effects related to nuclear weapons, militarism and the climate crisis. She serves on the local and national boards of directors of Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR) and is vice president of the San Francisco Bay Area PSR chapter. She is also a deputy international councilor for the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War.

Her clinical expertise encompasses Schizoaffective Disorder, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder (BPD), and Major Depression.

Dr. Fuller is board certified in American Board Of Psychiatry And Neurology., Psychiatry. She is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 2 peer reviewed articles.
