Overview
Andrew Akman, MD, MBA a native of Washington, DC, currently practices at Suburban Hospital, Sibley Hospital, and Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Akman performs a variety of minimally invasive procedures. He has specific interest in complex IVC filter removals, interventional oncology, pulmonary embolism, and prostate artery embolization. He performs chemoembolization and radioembolization (Yttrium-90) on primary liver cancer and metastatic liver disease. Dr. Akman also performs prostate artery embolization, an emerging minimally invasive technique for treating urinary symptoms associated with prostate enlargement. Dr. Akman prides himself on building strong relationships with his patients and practicing patient-centered medicine.
