Dr. Rakhmanina obtained her MD at People’s Friendship University in Moscow, Russia, and her PhD in clinical pharmacology at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. For almost 25 years she has been providing care to HIV-infected and HIV-exposed infants, children and adolescents. She is a successful clinical researcher, focusing her studies on the treatment and prevention of HIV in children and adolescents and serving as a principal investigator of pediatric and adolescent HIV studies funded by the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and industry. Dr. Rakhmanina has held multiple regional, national and international professional roles including serving as immediate past chair of the committee on Pediatric AIDS at the American Academy of Pediatrics and Inclusivity, Diversity and Equity Committee at the American College of Clinical Pharmacology.
