Dr. Gregg A. Koldenhoven

Dr. Jared Michalson is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in the surgical treatment of knee and hip arthritis as well as fractures throughout the body. Raised on a corn and soybean farm in northcentral Iowa, he brings a humble, community-centered approach to patient care. His goal is simple: to use the latest, proven nonsurgical and surgical techniques to relieve pain and restore function as quickly and safely as possible. He and his team prioritize clear communication to ensure patients and families understand every step of their diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Dr. Michalson is among a small group of orthopedic surgeons with dual fellowship training. As a specialist in orthopedic trauma, he treats complex fractures of the upper and lower extremities and pelvis, and serves as Medical Director of Orthopedic Trauma at The Medical Center of Aurora. He tailors treatment—surgical or nonsurgical—to each individual injury to ensure optimal outcomes. He also completed fellowship training in joint replacement, with expertise in outpatient knee and hip replacement, anterior approach hip replacement, robotic-assisted knee replacement, and partial knee replacement. He performs complex revision surgeries for patients with painful or problematic joint replacements. Dr. Choudhry provides a full complement of upper extremity/hand care from the shoulder to fingertips. A Colorado native, he graduated from Overland High School in Aurora where he was awarded the Bausch & Lomb Science Award for his “Excellent Promise in the Field of Science.” He went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in molecular biology from the University of Denver and graduated Cum Laude. He then attended the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical School where he received the William Winter MD Award for his “Outstanding Performance in Orthopedic Surgery” as a senior medical student. He continued his passion for orthopedics by completing his residency at the University of Cincinnati and affiliated hospitals. As a graduating chief resident he was selected as the recipient of the Peter J. Stern MD award “in recognition for outstanding qualities in professionalism, patient care, and teaching.” He then decided to pursue subspecialty training and completed an Upper extremity/Hand fellowship at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in North Carolina. During fellowship he received the Fellow’s Clinical Science Silver Award by the Wake Forest Division of Surgical Sciences for his research on nerve injuries. Dr. Choudhry has several research endeavors that have been presented at national meetings and published in prestigous scientific journals.
