Overview
Dr. R. Marvin Royster joined Peachtree Orthopedics in 1992. He treats patients in the areas of sports medicine, total joint replacements, arthroscopy, and shoulder, knee and hip surgery. His special interests include sports medicine, total joint replacements, arthroscopy, shoulder, knee and hip surgery. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
A native of Atlanta, Dr. Royster earned his B.S .from the University of Georgia, where he was valedictorian, in 1977. He was awarded his M.D. from the Medical College of Georgia in 1980. He completed his orthopedic residency at Wilford Hall Air Force Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. He received extensive training in sports medicine by way of a fellowship at the Hughston Orthopaedic Clinic. After completing his fellowship, he returned to Wilford Hall where he served as the head of sports medicine in the department of orthopedic surgery and as a clinical professor of orthopedics. Dr. Royster served eleven years in the U.S. Air Force. He was a flight surgeon for the Air Force Aerial Demonstration Squadron (the famous Thunderbirds) and later served as staff orthopedic surgeon.

Dr. Flint earned his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. He completed internships in internal medicine and general surgery, and a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Emory University affiliated hospitals in Atlanta. He is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and is active in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Flint practiced for 18 years at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, where he was chief of surgery for 15 years and the medical director of physical therapy. Dr. Flint is a native of Cherokee County. He graduated valedictorian from Cherokee High School and Phi Beta Kappa from Emory University with highest honors.When not working he enjoys woodworking, music and outdoor sports.
