He was neurology clerkship and course director, and program director of the Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Care at Howard University Hospital. Since July 2019, Dr. Mekonnen has been practicing stroke and general neurology in DC-Metro area, with admitting privileges at Suburban Hospital and Prince George’s Hospital Center.
