Dr. Bicket grew up in Baltimore, MD where she was first exposed to medical device design during high school, as an intern in the John Hopkins Hospital Department of Neurosurgery. After graduating magna cum laude from Harvard University with a degree in biology, she earned her M.D. from Duke University, where she carried out ophthalmic photography research aimed at the remote diagnosis of pediatric eye disease in underserved areas.
