He has provided care for both professional and amateur athletes for the Special Olympics, World Series of Beach Volleyball, LA Rugby and the Dew Tour. Dr. Maher completed his residency at Harbor-UCLA, a level one trauma center and widely renowned research facility in Los Angeles. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Touro University after receiving his undergraduate degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He is an active member of The American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.As a Cal Poly Alum, Dr. Maher and his family are happy to reside in SLO. Dr. Meghan McKiernan is grateful to practice primary care on the Central Coast. She was recruited to the area after finishing a family medicine residency program at Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2016.Chronic disease management, including prioritizing mental health, transitions of care from hospital to outpatient settings, and working with families are the main stays of her practice and give her the strength to continue pursuing her calling to help others on their health journey. She excels atbeing an exceptional listener and active team player in her patients health goals. Her work ethic is balanced by her active family, a husband and 3 growing boys. You may see Dr. McKiernan around town riding bikes, on the sports field, or out in nature at one of our beautiful state parks.
