Overview

Stephanie Boisclair, MD, is a bone marrow transplant, cellular therapy, and lymphoma specialist at the R.J. Zuckerberg Cancer Center at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. She is an assistant professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, where she completed her hematology and oncology fellowship. Dr. Boisclair earned her medical degree from the American University of Antigua and completed her internal medicine residency at Memorial Healthcare System in Florida.

She is the recipient of the ASCO Conquer Cancer Young Investigator Award for her work on clinical trials aimed at optimizing outcomes in acute myeloid leukemia. Her research focuses on post-transplant relapse and strategies to improve graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) outcomes. Dr. Boisclair is a member of the American Society of Hematology (ASH), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT), and the American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (ASTCT). She collaborates with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to promote patient education and health literacy around bone marrow transplant and cellular therapies. Her passion for oncology is rooted in a desire to improve not only survival outcomes but also quality of life for individuals navigating cancer diagnoses and treatments.

At Northwell, Dr. Boisclair is known for her compassionate, patient-centered approach. She emphasizes shared decision-making and tailoring treatment plans to reflect each patient's goals, values, and life circumstances. Some of the most meaningful moments come when patients feel seen and supported, she says. I remember one patient who, during a particularly anxious time, simply said, 'I'm glad you're here I know I can ask what I need to.' It reminded me how much trust and presence matter in helping people feel safe and cared for during vulnerable moments.

She credits Northwell's interdisciplinary model encompassing physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, transplant coordinators, social workers and financial counselors with helping patients navigate the complex transplant journey.

For Dr. Boisclair, the most rewarding part of her work is seeing patients not just survive but thrive. Every patient I care for teaches me something. Their courage through uncertainty motivates me every day to keep pushing forward in clinical care and research.
