Dr. Neil Nimkar
Overview
Neil S. Nimkar, MD, is a fellowship-trained hematologist/oncologist with Advanced Care Oncology and Hematology (ACOHA), part of Atlantic Medical Group (AMG). Board-certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he is trained in all malignancies and blood disorders. His clinical interests include anemia; hematology - WBC disorders; breast, colorectal, gastrointestinal, head and neck, and urological cancer (GU); leukemia and lymphoma. Dr. Nimkar strives to provide care individualized to the needs of each patient, while incorporating the most up-to-date knowledge and using precision medicine approach in treating patients. He takes pride in delivering the highest quality of patient care.After earning his medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine in Barbados, Dr. Nimkar completed his internal medicine residency at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, where he also performed his hematology-oncology fellowship. He received awards for excellence in clinical documentation as a best patient advocate, best ambulatory resident and as a wellness warrior. Dr. Nimkar joined ACOHA in 2021 following his fellowship training.In addition to English, Dr. Nimkar is fluent in Hindi and Gujarati. He has been published several times in peer-reviewed medical journals. His recent published research includes immunotherapy in hepatocellular cancer patients with mild to severe liver dysfunction, and he conducted an extensive study analyzing causes for the overtransfusion of blood products of patients. Dr. Nimkar is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
