Dr. Michael Mcclincy

Michael McClincy, MD, is a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon and is certified in orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is head of the Adolescent and Young Adult Hip Preservation program at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and is an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. McClincy received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his residency at UPMC, followed by his fellowships in Sports Medicine and Hip Preservation at Boston Children's Hospital. Dr. McClincy’s clinical interests include the management of sports injuries in adolescent and young adult patients with a particular focus on hip disorders in this young, active population. He is also an active clinician-scientist, with 20% of his effort devoted to research endeavors. His research focuses on optimizing the care of young patients with common hip disorders, including femoroacetabular impingement, hip instability/dysplasia, and hip cartilage injuries.
