I am an infectious diseases physician who specializes in immunocompromised hosts. I was inspired to pursue a career in medicine due to my rich family history of careers in medicine. I am a third-generation physician and the first female physician in my family. When interacting with patients, I value the time they spend telling me about their history. Patients may notice that I ask questions about their families, pets, hobbies, and traveling. This is often to get to know them better and personalize the conversation. I like to set aside as much time as possible at the end of the visit to discuss a management plan and offer patients the opportunity to ask any questions. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time at Durham restaurants, bars, and coffee shops, and playing with my golden retriever pup.
