Roger H. Emerson, M.D., comes from a family of physicians. His father was an obstetrician and his grandfather a general surgeon. While I was in college, my father's hip became increasingly uncomfortable, and he was unable to ski with the family or play ball with his kids. He has served as the director of the Joint Institute at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano, and is active in teaching and research.Emerson's focus is on primary hip and knee surgery, especially less-invasive techniques.
