If you’re an obstetrician, you have a celebration every day. That’s one of the reasons I chose this specialty when I was in medical school. I always had an interest in healing and biology, but with my field, it is fun even if you’re up in the middle of the night doing a delivery. After moving to this area in 1984 to practice, I still find myself in Kingsport after all these years. I met my wife here and am still close in proximity to my hometown of Prestonsburg, Kentucky. After living in big cities such as Tampa, Louisville, Denver and Houston, I discovered that I appreciate the small town atmosphere.
