Overview
Laura Meza Rios, MD is board certified in internal medicine and specializes in medical oncology and hematology. Dr. Rios attended medical school at Universidad Industrial de Santander in Colombia graduating in 2005. She completed residency at Rochester Regional Health in Rochester, NY. Prior to moving to Houston she worked as an academic hospitalist for a year after graduating from residency. She completed her Hematology/ Oncology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Rios is passionate about gastroenterology oncology and frequently treats colon, rectal, pancreatic, liver and gastric cancer. She is also known to treat other conditions such as lung and breast cancer, as well as lymphomas, myelomas and other solid organ cancers. Dr. Rios provides individualized care to each of her patients. She is passionate about learning about her patients and what is important to them when creating a treatment plan. When Dr. Rios is not treating patients, she loves spending time with her family outdoors, biking and cooking for special occasions. Dr. Rios joined the faculty at the Dan L. Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center at Baylor College of Medicine in August 2020 and is accepting new patients.
