Dr. Mollie J. Dodson

Dr. Derrick is excited to join MMC as he returns to his home state of Tennessee. He attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN, for his undergraduate education with a focus on Biology and Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology. After completing medical school at East Tennessee State University’s James H. Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City, TN, he relocated to Charleston, SC, to continue training at the Medical University of South Carolina Pediatric Residency Program. He further specialized in Allergy and Immunology for adult and pediatric patients at the Vanderbilt University Allergy and Immunology Fellowship Program in Nashville, TN. He is double board-certified in Pediatrics as well as Allergy and Immunology and currently accepts new adult and pediatric patients in the Allergy and Immunology clinic.Education for patients is critical to Dr. Derrick, and he draws from his background of having both parents as educators. His previous employment experience includes working with fellows training in Allergy and Immunology as well as directing an elective rotation for medical students and resident trainees interested in the specialty. He enjoys photography in addition to learning about history and travelling to broaden his own global education.
